Protect your extended text in the news module from your non paid members. This is a simple mod that will hide the readmore from members and visitors that have not subscribed.

Files to edit:
modules/News/index.php ( Some older versions of nuke use modules/Nuke_News/index.php )
modules/News/article.php
modules/News/comments.php

Steps :
Open modules/Nuke/index.php and find codes similar to the following.

$morelink .= "$story_link<b>"._READMORE."</b></a> | ";

Change it to the following.

if(paid()){ $morelink .= "$story_link<b>"._READMORE."</b></a> | "; }else {//Now we give non subscribers a message, change this to anything $morelink .="Subscribe to WS to readmore"; }

This portion will protect the extended text. Open modules/News/article.php and find the following:

themearticle($aid, $informant, $datetime, $title, $bodytext, $topic, $topicname, $topicimage, $topictext);

Change to the following. Note that you can change the text to whatever you want the non subscribers to see. :

if(paid()): $thebody = $bodytext; else: $thebody = '<b>Access Denied</b><br><br>This portion of our website is available to paid subscribers only.'; endif; themearticle($aid, $informant, $datetime, $title, $thebody, $topic, $topicname, $topicimage, $topictext);

Next let's protect commenters from viewing the articles. Open modules/News/comments.php and find the following :

$comment = "$temp_comment<br><br>$comment2";

Change to :

if(paid()): $comment = "$temp_comment<br><br>$comment2"; else: $comment = '<b>Access Denied</b><br><br>This portion of our website is available to paid subscribers only.'; endif;

Save all and upload. That's all! Now all your members will have to pay to read more. Visit our forums for more help.
