Adding downloads to your phpnuke portal is easy, this tutorial will explain how.

Steps :
The first thing is to create a folder on your server preferable in the nuke folder to host your download files. The following is an example of where you would put your .zips and .exe files.

http://www.yoursite.com/nuke/downloads/.

Next, upload your files to that "downloads" folder. Go to your phpnuke admin page and click on Downloads. You will need to first add categories by entering a name for the category and a short description. Once you add your category, you can now proceed to add your downloads. As you may notice you can add subcategories to each category. So if you have a category named PHP-Nuke, you can add subcategories to that like Themes, Modules, Blocks and so on.... Adding a subcategory is easy too, just write the name of the subcategory then select the main category from the list box and type a description.

Lets add a download. Scroll down to "Add a new download" section and fill in the following.

Add a New Download

Program Name: Add the name of the file here
File Link: The link to the file eg. http://yoursite.com/nuke/downloads/myfile.zip
Category: Select the category or subcategory that the file should be in
Description: (255 characters max) : Write a description of the download.
Author's Name: Write the name of the author of the download here (Optional)
Author's Email: Email address of the author here (Optional)
Filesize: (in bytes) : Enter the size of the file as it says in bytes. so if the file is 500kb, you would write 500000 .
Version: The version of the file eg. 1.0 or 2.1 (Optional)
HomePage: The homepage of the author or the file.
Hits: Leave this blank so it can make a correct record of the amount of times the file is viewed.
