Many people know how time consuming and faulty it is to upload a large database using PHP MyAdmin. Well, there is a much easier and faster way to achieve this.

First, copy the .SQL you would like to upload to the following folder. Obvioulsy if you installed wamp in a different folder then make the necessary changes in the links below.

C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.0.51a\bin

Next open command prompt and enter the following to change directory

cd C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.0.51a\bin

Next enter the following

mysql -u USERNAME -p MYPASSWORD  DATABASENAME < SQL_FILE_NAME.sql

From the above code change the caps to the username, password, database name and the file name for the sql file. If you do not use a password for your database then leave blank after -p so it would be -p DATABASENAME

Press ENTER

Depending on the size of the database, it should take a few seconds to many minutes. Usually just a few minutes.
