Right now I have links coming in from alot of websites, most related to tutorials, web development and basically all the right links. This is not about google ranks, it's about getting the targeted visitors. Forget about google ranks, I can tell you that i get more visits from yahoo and msn than I do google. I was one of those so worried about my placement on google that I forgot why I started web development. It was to create things that hopefully people like and if enough people like it then word of mouth would do far greater than search engines can. It brings you the right visitors, not just the lurkers. Posted: Fri Nov 25, 2005 9:17 pm

That way the traffic that comes to my sites is precisely the kind of traffic I want. My referrer list for each site goes beyond a single page (set to display 50 referrers per page). search engines have their place, but all too often send the wrong people to the site, and are nowhere near as effective as forums, link sites, newsgroups, and such like.
