This is a great possibility as each day google gets more powerful and microsoft loses it's power. Windows Vista will be a tough sell as I said before, most consumers are content with XP. The "nerds" will of course purchase Vista but that is not enough to make it a success. Google on the other hand is expanding it's network possible moving towards internet services. Google has the power right now to slowly start blocking msn links from it's searches. This would lessen the impact of M$ and give more visits for it's competitors which in return slowly drains microsoft of it's users. Maybe I am just thinking ahead but if I had google's resources that is what I would do. It's all about survival. What are your thoughts?

We can hope.

I guess I just prefer a more personal company than Microsoft is. Think of companies in terms of people. Google would be your friend, while Microsoft would be some politician.

I do disagree with your thoughts on Vista. While it may not be needed, it'll have been 5 or 6 years with XP. People will upgrade, and it will be like the big rush from Win 3.1 to Win 95. Techs everywhere will be working overtime Smile

There are a lot of new ideas in Vista and I can see it beening upgraded too quite a lot. I also can see google getting in to battles wih M$. I have a feeling that google like their position in the internet world and wouldn't risk a battle with M$ for the hell of it.

The 2 companies are based around totally different ideas and products and have no real reason to create a war.

Google was once all about searches but lately it has moved closer to the desktop [m$ turf]. Google's intention is not just to make searches but it's to be apart of the desktop as much as microsoft is. This is where the battle is.
