The reason for that is currently the module supports only one level for subscribers which means that if you paid $5 to join the site you would get the same access as someone paying $40. The next version will give you that level access with ws groups. You can then add the different levels so platinum subscribers can get full download from the gallery and gold subscribers get less. The changes you mentioned are to be done by the owner of the website. I have not premodded the files with those changes due to the different versions of nuke. Some people also do not care much about user integration, they basically just want the gallery as a module so I give them that choice.
