Is it fair that you have to re purchase the OS that you currently own? I think each computer should have a Windows disc and not the OEM. I can't wait for Ubuntu to have all I need so I can switch. But it will work if you install it on the new hardrive if that was your question.... However most of the time if you buy your box from a company like dell or gateway etc..... You end up with a ton of promo crap along with it ... If you dont mind deleting all the promo crap everytime you re install the OS then theres really no issue. Otherwise you gotta go out and buy your favorite OS all over again promo crap free but you will always have a nice clean version of it.
