People are dying all over the world from hunger, war ect. all the news are showing is someone in space removing a stupid foam. Are you kidding me? I'll tell you the truth why it's on the news. They are all hoping something bad happens. They are covering the space shuttle return hoping it explodes so they have something to talk about and say they have it live. News are about sensationalism, and if you think otherwise you are just fooling yourself. Start covering news that are important and stop covering things that are of little importance to our lives!! Wow. How much alcohol did it take for you to come to that conclusion? The need to reduce weight on rockets led to miniaturisation, and so to the micro-chip and the modern computer. The Global Positioning System. Research into climate change, for example, would be almost impossible without the data provided by satellites. The effects of zero-gravity on astronauts has substantially added to our knowledge of the workings of the human body, and the ageing process. Apollo missions led to the development of practical fuel-cells, which are now being explored as a possible future power-source for cleaner cars. Numerous medical discoveries would not have been if it were not for the experiments done on board the zero gravity enviroments of Skylab, Mir, the Shuttles and the current International Space Station. practical fuel-cells Correct me if I am wrong but weren't these all created on earth? Posted: Wed Aug 10, 2005 6:32 am
