avoid them like the plague. my bizzy partner went and got some space from them, i installed ravens 7.6 distro, the actual server got hacked n we had a page added to our site that phished account details for egg.com.
streamline proceeded to accuse ME of doing this, deleted the site and took nearly a week to answer why!

Their hosting is probably the worst in the world, the servers are slow, the support is lame and uneducated, the down time is astronomical and the price is abit steep too.

Depends what part of the world you are in really and who your site is aimed at. Wouldnt recommend a UK host for US site or vice versa because of the lag and support hours. 1and1 are good as long as you never transfer away from them...moving a domain from them is a cowbag. If your hosting a nuke site try Raven.
