This may be the hardest operating system for Microsoft to sell. Studies show that most people are happy with WindowsXP and see no reason to switch. Are the features of Longhorn enough to make you get rid of the only operating system made by M$ that actually works?. I am not switching, I am very happy with my copy of windows XP. Maybe I will test it on another system but for now, XP is the way to go....

I know I won't be upgrading.
From some of the information I've read, the feds have had a pretty big influence on the way Longhorn will handle rights management as well as a number of other issues.
There was a nice article outlining the amount of influence the feds are having on Longhorns developement and it really made my jaw drop. I wish I would have saved it.
Let's just say that windows update for Longhorn will probably take as long as a virus scan while it scans for "certain" information.

You are right on that, windows update has already started that. Certain downloads you can't get unless you "verify" your copy of windows. I have already verified mine but this is leading to a point of privacy invasion that I really would advice microsoft not to travel. They are on a path to be sued more than they ever dream, this could bring microsoft down, let's say it's the nail in the coffin for them. The news is spreading about this and now is the best time for Linux and Apple to step up. I have know 10 people that got rid of windowsXP already and there decision was because of microsoft new measures.

I too will stick with Longhorn for a while. I assume all new PCs will have Lornhorn so that's when I will get it and test it. If it is slow and not worth it, I will downgrade to WindowsXP.
